STONEHOUSE STORY

Growing up in a winemaking family, it was practically a rite of passage that I would end up working in the industry myself.

Years of working in the industry and consulting lead me to starting my own venture with Curator Wine Co, in the heart of the Barossa in the Marananga sub region. These iconic Barossa vines allow us to focuses on the local gems - Shiraz, old vine Grenache and Mataro.

Our emphasis is on keeping our wines full of flavour but fresh, juicy and eminently drinkable.

It’s all about the quality of fruit from the vineyards, so selection is key. In the winery I'm fairly hands off, as we let natural ferments do their work, followed by gentle basket pressing and storage of the young wines in only seasoned oak, if they even see any oak at all.

THE VINEYARDS

Located near the hamlet of Marananga on the western side of the Barossa Valley, our vineyards are set amongst beautiful rolling hills which directly affect the flavour characters associated with each vineyard block. The soil is rich in ironstone and quartzite, ideal for producing deeply flavoured fruit.

The Barossa Valley is Australia’s premier red wine-producing region, famous for its rich and flavoursome Shiraz. Each year we produce Barossa Valley wines that are a nod to traditional winemaking methods, while applying modern practices to allow the wines to speak for themselves. The rich fruit flavour we enjoy as a result are distinct and inimitable.
